Getting to create the new custom website design for Apotheca and collaborating with them was a dream. They have such a unique take on what it is that they do and have built Apotheca to truly be a place to visit and enjoy – so much more than simply just a flower shop. Based in Goffstown, New Hampshire they have curated an amazing team of artistic and talented individuals who create beautiful things together and for the people that they do business with.
From the beginning, the Apotheca team wanted to ensure that their custom website design would exude the unique and artistic approach they bring to their business and craft. They wanted layers, and artistic elements and a website that truly breathed life into their online presence. We started with an inspiration board – curated visuals that they pulled on Pinterest as well as color tone they were drawn to.

From the inspiration board, we mapped out the entire website and also added texture and pattern elements that brought in those additional layers to add to the uniqueness of the site as well as tell the story of the Apotheca brand. We knew we wanted the juxtaposition between modern elements and rustic texture. Apotheca expressed being drawn to the hexagon shape and, while keeping the organic integrity, we pulled that in using a honeycomb type of look which we used to build the about section of the website. Truly my favorite about section to date – be sure and check it out when you browse their website!
We also wanted to include some hand drawn, imperfect style elements so I went to the drawing board to create their favorite floral pieces that we layered and sprinkled throughout the website. You might remember the behind-the-scenes peek I shared awhile back. With all of those elements combined, we were able to create Apotheca’s new brand style guide that we will use in future projects such as their blog, online shop and marketing pieces.
After that it was off to the races to build and create their entire custom website design. It truly is a unique reflection of who Apotheca is and what they do. The online experience on their website truly gives the viewer a sense of their approach to floral design and everything else that they do. And because mobile functionality is so important (read my thoughts and tips on that here), we made sure the same experience happens on all devices.
So be sure and head over to Apotheca online and browse their site and also stop in to see them if you are in the area of Goffstown, NH. Tell them Kara sent you and give them a hug for me!
