I know what you are probably thinking – and no. The boys bedroom is not fully complete yet and I am already styling and prepping for the office re-do. I might need a 12-step program, friends. Does anyone else jump from project to project without finishing them completely? This is one of the things that causes my husband’s eyes to roll. I don’t get this very often from him, but when he sees the wheels spinning and my creative juices flowing, he knows that yet another project is going to be underway while the current five are still needing to be completed. Some may call it an illness, but let’s go with something cuter. A quirk? Moving on to the Home Office Makeover | Part One with Chairish.
When Chairish approached me last month to take part in their ‘Mix n Chic Style Challenge’ I thought, woo hoo! Another project to start! #CueEyeRollingFromTheHusband. However, I promptly reminded him that we had decided over the summer to combine both home offices into one and the new shared space needed some planning. #CueOnePointForMe. Chairish must have been sensing my need to style and gather inspiration for the shopping that will soon start. Here are some of the images I have been collecting over the past few weeks:
What I absolutely loved about this challenge was infusing shabby chic into the design of the room using some fabulous finds from their curated Shabby Chic collection. My husband and I love the feeling that worn pieces exude and we use them throughout our home for an eclectic yet more traditional style and feel with hints of industrial. It sounds like we are over the place a bit, but it works for us. We have collected pieces instead of always purchasing brand new and we make sure that when searching for a larger piece, even if it will be refinished, the bones of it need to be a more traditional style (ie: straight-edge corners, intricate details, etc).
When it comes to the office space we will be sharing we currently have white trestle style desks with a more modern feel from Ikea along with a refinished white shabby chic armoire for the office space that we found years ago, but it is definitely needing so much more – a perfect blend of feminine and masculine, those interesting touches alongside clean lines, an overall feeling of comforr. I am loving the shabby chic inspiration I gathered from Chairish:
