When Megan first reached out to me regarding her vision for a re-brand, I took one look at her work and just about fell out of my chair. She is a talented wedding and portrait photographer based out of Virginia and for her ShowIt 5 website design and branding she was wanting something extremely unique and different than any other photographer in her area when it came to her branding and online presence. We dove right into the very first part of the process.
Just as with all of my projects do, we began with curating anything and everything that inspired her from home decor to fashion to patterns and textures using Pinterest. Creating one place to view the “bigger picture” is such a helpful tool and vital piece to the branding and design process. It’s through that very first step that we were able to build a base as we began working on her ShowIt 5 website design and branding.
With the initial inspiration board curated complete with color palette, we then dove right in to her logo design. While we initially left the door wide open to anything and everything we quickly fell in love with a more geometrical accent and something with a modern flair.
With straying away from following too many of the current trends, we fell in love with a copper foil look as an accent to her branding. It truly gave it that refined and high end feel without losing the simplicity. A mix of sans serif and script font create the perfect mix of strong and feminine for her website as well as a gorgeous black texture to add some drama to the entire look. Her custom ShowIt 5 website is clean, crisp and easy to navigate. Her galleries feature a unique Pinterest style layout and her custom mobile site was given the same treatment to create a very user-friendly experience for any and all viewers using a mobile device. We are diving into her custom ShowIt 5 blog design next, but she and I decided we just couldn’t resist sharing her newly launched brand and website design!
And just because I cannot get enough of her work, here are just a few more. Be sure and visit Megan at megan-vaughan.com!
