Katina is one of those creatives that oozes uniqueness. She embraces everything that life offers and dances to the beat of her own drum. I have loved getting to know her over the years and call her a friend and even more honored that she trusts me with her business branding. This is the third time we have gotten to work together over the years and this latest aesthetic change to her growing business is my favorite yet. She has been going through a bit of a transformation and experiencing major growth within her craft and she wanted a brand refresh to reflect this. Something ethereal, clean, raw and breathtaking. We collaborated on a logo refresh as well as her new website and blog design and I absolutely love the way it all turned out. Today I am sharing with you the ShowIt 5 website design for Katina Patriquin Photography as well as her brand styling and aesthetics.
As with all of my design and branding projects, we started at the beginning in research and development. Katina gathered images that spoke to her and the vision she had for her brand refresh and I curated them into an inspiration board for us – a sort of jumping off point for the rest of the project to give us a clear direction.
From there we gave her logo design a refresh with a new, softer serif font as well as added a watercolor feature that tied in well with the earthy and ethereal look she was wanting. We established a soft and soothing color palette – simple overall and soft spoken to ensure that her images are front and center and really the focus of everything. Her overall brand aesthetic now creates a beautiful consistency between her work and her online presence.
From there we dove into all things website design for Katina Patriquin Photography’s custom ShowIt 5 website design. With all of my website designs, my main focus is to not only design a website that is beautiful and unique, but to ensure that navigation is easy and flows throughout the entire site. And because the mobile end of things is vital these days (you can read my thoughts on that here), I wanted to create the same experience no matter what device Katina’s ShowIt 5 website and blog is viewed on. I think we absolutely accomplished this. Not to mention, Katina’s images on her website draw you in instantly – they are absolutely breathtaking!
