Sometimes companies from a completely different industry come to me because they need something sophisticated and a designer who will think outside of the box. Today I wanted to share with you a recent logo design for a medical management company I did last year. Amy, the owner, came to me not knowing quite what she wanted, but she knew exactly what she didn’t want. She didn’t want the typical logo she sees all over her industry that includes typical medical icons and graphics. She wanted to stand out with something simple, but sophisticated. With something well-designed, but that didn’t scream “MEDICAL”.
When I have a client come to me not knowing quite what they are envisioning, but a strong sense of what they do not want the logo concepts that I create are broad. The goal is to show them very different options because what they gravitate towards tells me exactly what they are inclined to loving for their company logo.

Usually from there, I would then take the one or two designs that the client is feeling most inclined to and then create another round of concepts more like those designs. However, Amy fell in love with one concept right away so the rest of the job was pretty easy on my end. I always love when an original design fits the bill because it shows me that the client and I took the time in the beginning to truly discuss the needs and vision for the project.
